I don’t feel I have the time to really write (or rather finish) a blog piece on memoriation. But this sequence of tweets, as a reaction to some memorisation claims in Scientific American give some support for why I think that image is a caricature. Memorisation, procedures, understanding all go hand in hand (see for example Rittle-Johnson, Siegler, Alibali, Star etc.). I leave it to others to write a real blog š
